I'm glad obama is giving attention to our health care system. As for the shortage of nurses and hiring foreign nurses to fill that I think the better approach is to look at the pool of unemployed individuals in the US - take anyone willing and able to be trained to fill the shortage. In that way you've filled the shortage and at the same time lowered the unemployment statistic in the US which leads to money in the peoples' pockets to buy necessities and eventually contribute to our struggling economy.

first off.. health care is asscessible to anyone. ER's and hospitals treat patients regularly that are "self pay" meaning no insurance... and the hospital is going to eat the cost of the entire bill. I would venture to say that 40% or more of the patients that I see are self pay. ...social medicine= we already have it.
next, sure great we will get more screening for cancer but what happens when it turns out that YOU have cancer? that health care plan isnt going to fund for any experiemental research or dramatic treatments that a dr. might decide that you need. it is only going to fund for run of the mill treatments. so when your mets tumor needs x + x + y treatments Doctor Obama and his Legislative Nurses are going to prescribe that you can only x + x because y is too expensive. y might have saved your life, but no chance with obama.

I think this health care bill is good not only because he has been the first president in awhile to address the health care issue in this country but it is good to insured the poor!
Actually over 50,000 licensed nurses walked away from the field of nursing for many reasons. Obamas health care bill is a joke, and will bring the quality of care down. Why else would the UK have a private insurance program as the US does, and where are all those patients from Canada going to go. Fact is the US health care gets a bad shake when in fact its top notch care.
Actually there isnt a shortage over 50,000 licensed nurses have walked away from healthcare for many reasons. Obama is soon to destroy the healthcare system, why else would the UK offer health insurance as in the US and where will all those Canadian patients go, US health care gets a bad rap when its good quality care. Costs are high because doctors in the US do more tests and offer expensive drugs which you cant get in Canada and other places so it is actually a ration care the US will be going to, but the rich will buy health insurance anyway and go to the front of the line, Obama is making everyone lower and a class system which never actually existed in the US its called socialism
Poor already had free healthcare its called the welfare doctor, and many states have insurance for poor and children the whole thing is a farce and will destroy the healthcare system,,, tell me one thing the government has run correct and with proved results ? you cant.
Oh o, to bad that Obama had been reelected, it seems that American people has no problem with the Obamacare.
